When i was a child and i can remember back then often you would see huge flocks of birds in the sky. With this in mind i have been putting the crust of my bread out but it's still where i left it. In my youth there would be thousands of birds in the sky today the skies are empty. WHY
Here is a few pictures of what was going on at the Chestnut festival. Many stalls had Chestnut and honey for sale and also various foods. Jackie came along with a huge selection of English foods and yes Heinz beans.
I was introduced to the President and deputy of the council at a festival in town. It is the Chestnut festival and it goes on for three days till 10pm on the first night/
I met the deputy to ask for permission to have a Christmas market on the 18th December. The deputy said yes but suggested we go to the original market because there is a huge stage like area we call all fit under.
This market is being held to raise money for the local bikers to buy toys and take them to local children. The bikers dress up in fancy dress when they drive there motor to deliver the toys.
Some time ago i set up a fish tank with three divisions but the mistake i made was the tank was to high. I built a stand the same height as my 5,000 litre tank and all seemed good. The tank is 40 cm that doesn't seem a lot but it ended up to high to put my hand in.
This week i moved the tank and put in on a lower shelf and it's easy to maintain. Now i am going to have to build another tank with three division in it. A bonus having three tanks side by side is good i have a heater in the middle tank. With the tank in a warm room the middle heater is heating the tank on the right and the left.
Another week and i can start to get new inhabitants for each tank.
For this last week we have had really bad wind and rain. Today is dry with no rain but a sight i didn't want to see. One of my Cherry trees has been blown over in the wind.
I do have a number of Cherry trees and one is dying and would not be missed but that one is still standing. The wood won't go to waste all the smaller branches will go for firewood. The main part of the trunk make be used on a lathe.
Putin you have caused the planet no end of trouble. Almost every country there is problems but really it's not affected me yet until today.
I sell spices at local markets and today i got a shock Cumin seeds and powder had gone up almost 40%. That was bad enough i checked two other suppliers and they where the same. Mustard seeds are up by 25% and green cardamom is a silly price.
It's bed enough not being able to get any UK curries because of Brexit but this is a bigger problem.
I contacted two suppliers in Northern island and Dublin in Ireland and they haven't replied the world is going mad.
Saturday i went to a market not to far away in a place called Coja. It's a once a month market where you can buy almost everything Cloths, tools, plants, various cooked foods and yes Spices. Saturday was overcast but nice and warn very pleasant from early morning till at least when i left to go home.
Overcast it may have been but the market was really busy. there is one tool i need but again nobody had one for sale but maybe next month.
Last Friday was a beautiful day not a cloud in sight. I had to go and visit someone and Google maps on my phone would take me there. I put the address into Google maps and soon started my journey.
Google maps took me down a single track lane but that was OK the road would soon become wider. No it didn't and there was nowhere for me to stop and turn round. On the left there was a shear drop down a very steep hill so i had to carry on till i could turn round.

The second picture is the road in front of me that was to steep for me to drive over.
The village i was going to was just over the top of the hill but why did Google pick such an unpassable road.
I have for a long time followed a number of channels on Youtube. Everything from a guy cutting logs into planks to a young couple renovating a farm that had not been used for many years.
I even watch the King of DIY all about tropical fish. He built a 2,000 gallon fish tank and i built a 5,000 litre fish tank. Je has a lot of Oscars and i have two Oscars but give me time.

At a couple of markets i met some really nice people from the Kingdom of Pineal.
They are a spiritual and well being group of people who i found interesting. I was invited to go along with my spices as they have 60 plus people to feed everyday. I met about 10 people from all nationalities and spoke with them. When i got my spices out the talk was about recipes and they soon had lots ready for me to sell them.

We have all heard of the Ukraine. As i had a piece of wood that looked good i decided to make a board in memory of the Ukraine.
I have just had friends staying at there house in my village. My friends are from Germany and close to the route the refuges where taking to freedom. My friend fell in love with the Ukraine board and asked to buy it from me. I had made it for a charity auction.
My friend told me how she took in two grandparents, two daughters and three grand children. I didn't sell the board i gave it and asked could it be given to the Ukrainian family. I was cheeky and asked for a photograph of the family with the board i made of there country.
I received a call from a friend that she is coming over to her house in my village. It was to be sometime later in October but i received a call yesterday to say the where arriving today. Now this is about two weeks early and time for me to open her house. As the house has not been open for a while the spiders had left webs everywhere.
Now all the shutters are open and the pellet burner is on to take the chill out of the house, fridge, washing machine and heating system is on ready for use.
Because of the ladies age she can no longer hire a car so family members have to escort her on her visits. One being a famous German actor, but my friend now has 15 great grandchildren. Wow i only have 4 grand children all special to me like every bodies grand children are.
I have received many over the years and today i looked back on some of them. But my failure was not to have replied to any and in future i will it's the least i can do for the kind words i have received.
I had a visit from a reader a few weeks ago and when i looked back i see i have had a number from the same person always kind words. This ready and her husband where i think i can use the term on a journey looking for there piece of Heaven. They are on there journey but i found my heaven.
While looking round Portugal they found themselves in the area i live. Looking out the window is saw a lady walking up the lane where my house is as the window was open i said hello. I got a nice reply from an English lady here husband was in there motorhome and what a beautiful motor home it was. So they came in for Tea what else can you offer but a good old cuppa.
all to quickly we parted but met up later for a drink or two at the Maytay what is my local. sadly as it was getting late we parted me to go home and they went back to there motorhome.
Portugal may not be a big country but the people are wonderful all i can say is there is somewhere or everybody.

Sunday at the market at Miranda do Corvo i was busy talking to friend in the shade from the sun. I saw someone who i thought i recognised it was only when he was joined by his partner that i recognised them both. They are Youtubers from a channel that i follow The Indego Escape with Omar and Andrea.
On Youtube they are showing how they are renovating there property they have not to far from my house. They like others are working on the most important things that need work and they seem to be doing a great job.
I am eager to see the main house started up to now they have been doing the things that seem most important to them. the last episode was about the solar panels the had delivered.
