A new Roof or what looks like a new Roof

Before i went home to see my Mum i had spoken to a local builder through a friend who can speak Portuguese about a couple of cracked roof tiles and a small water leak. I mentioned that he could quote me for a new roof in the summer when the weather was much better.

The builder had a look and said that the roof was in very good condition. He went on to say that the roof only needed washing with a power jet washer. Across the front gable there are some tiles that are just decorative and some of these where broken but in my cellar i had enough tile to cover the roof. The builder replaced tiles and also the decorative ones as well. The roof looks like new and should outlast me. This is one big expense that i won't have to pay for.

  1. The change from power washing your roof is so amazing. Your tiles actually look brand new, and they make your house's facade even more beautiful. It's so nice that you found a good builder.

  3. It truly does, Peter! Roofs should always be washed every once in a while. Just make sure there is no leak before you wash. Otherwise, you might see water puddles inside your house.

  4. Hurrah! No more roof grime..that grime can definitely affect the appearance of your roof. It looks so much better now. In fact, it looks brand new! I wish you posted more pictures of your house though, the exterior, specifically. You had me wondering whether your house is colonial or Victorian.

  5. I agree with ‘Santo’, more pictures please. Roof grime on your roof is unattractive and would damage your roof eventually. So, checking-up on your roof every once in a while is a good habit for homeowners. That way, damage can be prevented early on. :)

  6. Wow, it’s good that your existing roof is still strong enough and only required minor patch-ups. And yes, it’ll probably outlast you, particularly if you perform regular preventive maintenance measures. I’m sure this can save you even more expenses in the future.

  7. Cracked roof tiles and small leaks – these are definitely roof issues that homemakers need to resolve immediately. But it is good that your roof is still in good condition. But you must patch up these little roof issues to prevent the damage from spreading into the other parts of your roof.
